Cadillac has created some of the most pioneering innovations in automotive history, which have all led us to the LYRIQ. Undoubtedly the invention of the Electric Self Starter, the V8 engine and the integration of car air conditioning, changed the industry forever.

Electric Self-Starter

In 1911, Cadillac introduced the electric self-starter, eliminating the need for hand-cranking engines. This innovation revolutionised the automotive industry, making cars more accessible and user-friendly to a wider audience. This accessibility allowed women to join men on the roads, paving the way for more female drivers.

V8 Engine

Cadillac's introduction of the V8 engine in 1915 set a new benchmark for power and performance in the automotive world. This engine design became synonymous with Cadillac's power, luxury and state-of-the-art technology. Fast forward to today and Cadillac has embedded this love for power in the LYRIQ by creating our battery platform, an incredible piece of technology which sees our EV’s travel for longer and faster, setting the LYRIQ apart from its competitors.

Air Conditioning

Cadillac was one of the first automakers to offer air conditioning in its vehicles in 1941, enhancing passenger comfort and setting a new standard for luxury. Today, the LYRIQ goes above and beyond with the comfort of its passengers with features including a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated seats and individual climate zones, all behind an incredibly user-friendly interface.
