The LYRIQ is manufactured on a dedicated Right Hand Drive line in Spring Hill, Tennessee, USA.

At this time, Cadillac's focus in Australia and New Zealand is on the LYRIQ. The availability of other models, including the Escalade, has not been confirmed.

IS CADILLAC ENTERING AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND PERMANENTLY?

Yes, Cadillac is establishing a permanent presence in Australia and New Zealand, starting with the all-electric LYRIQ.

ABOUT LYRIQ

DOES THE LYRIQ HAVE WIRELESS CHARGING FOR MOBILE DEVICES?

Yes, the LYRIQ is equipped with wireless charging for compatible Apple and Android devices.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE LYRIQ LUXURY AND SPORT MODELS?

Both Luxury and Sport models sit on GM’s bespoke EV battery technology, and feature all-wheel drive propulsion.  Luxury has an angled linear pattern on the shield (grille) and features brighter accents on the wheels and exterior mouldings. Sport has an interlocking triangular pattern in the shield texture and darker accents on a number of exterior features including the wheels, lower fascia grille and headlamp surround. WHERE IS THE BATTERY LOCATED?

The battery is located in the floor of the vehicle to optimise weight distribution and improve handling.

DOES THE LYRIQ HAVE STORAGE IN THE FRONT (FRUNK)?

No, the LYRIQ does not have a front storage compartment (frunk). However, it offers ample storage in the rear.

IS THERE A SPARE TYRE?

No, the LYRIQ does not come with a spare tyre, as it is equipped with a tyre inflator kit, stored in the rear boot.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR THE LYRIQ TO GO FROM 0 TO 100 KM/H?

The LYRIQ features near-instant torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in around 5.3 seconds, providing a thrilling driving experience. Figures based on GM testing in the United States in controlled environments. Actual figures may vary and are subject to environmental conditions.

WHAT IS THE TOWING CAPACITY OF THE LYRIQ?

The LYRIQ is currently unrated for towing in Australia and New Zealand. Cadillac currently does not offer any towing options.

WHERE IS THE MOTOR LOCATED?

The LYRIQ offering in Australia and New Zealand features dual motors in all-wheel-drive, both mounted in the undercarriage for optimal performance.

HOW DO I OPEN THE BOOT?

The boot can be opened via the key fob, a button on the trunk, or by using the hands-free feature with a foot motion sensor.

WHAT ARE THE SAFETY FEATURES OF THE LYRIQ?

The LYRIQ includes advanced safety features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, automatic emergency braking, and a 360-degree camera system. Find out more about LYRIQ’s safety features via the product features page.

DOES THE LYRIQ HAVE SUPER CRUISE?

Super Cruise is a feature that is not currently available in Australia and New Zealand.

WHAT ARE THE INTERIOR TECHNOLOGY FEATURES?

The LYRIQ boasts a 33-inch curved LED display, AKG studio-grade sound system, and advanced connectivity features including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Find out more about LYRIQ’s technology features on the technology page.

IS THERE A HEADS-UP DISPLAY?

The LYRIQ currently does not include a heads-up display (HUD). LYRIQ does feature a LED Reflective Windshield Collision Alert that appears on the windscreen when the vehicle detects a potential collision.

IS THE VEHICLE BEING BUILT AS A RIGHT-HAND DRIVE?

Yes, it is being factory built in right-hand-drive.

IS THERE ANDROID AUTO AND/OR APPLE CARPLAY?

Yes, The LYRIQ features wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto as standard. Apple and Android terms and conditions apply.

WHERE IS THE LYRIQ BATTERY MADE?

GM’s bespoke EV battery technology, which features in the LYRIQ, is made at GM's battery facility in Warren, Ohio.

WHAT DOES GM HAVE IN PLACE FOR SAFE AND ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY BATTERY DISPOSAL?

GM is supporting the growth of the battery recycling and reuse business. We want to see all of our EV batteries reused or recycled after their term of service within our vehicles, when possible. We will be announcing our battery recycling plans soon.

IS THERE AN UPGRADE FOR EXTENDED BATTERY RANGE, LIKE OTHER EV BRANDS IN THE MARKET?

At this time, the Cadillac LYRIQ does not offer an upgrade for extended battery range. The vehicle is designed to provide a substantial range on a single charge, and any future battery options or upgrades will be communicated by Cadillac as they become available.

IF THE BATTERY IS DISCHARGED TO 0%, WILL THIS CAUSE ANY DAMAGE TO THE BATTERY OR OTHER COMPONENTS IN THE VEHICLE?

If the vehicle is immediately re-charged after 'running flat' there is unlikely to be any damaged caused. However, if left flat for a significant period of time there may be a potential for damage.

IF I DO NOT USE THE CAR FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD, HOW DO I CONSERVE THE BATTERY CHARGE?

WILL THE BATTERIES LOSE CHARGE QUICKER AS THE VEHICLE AGES AND DOES THE NUMBER OF KILOMETRES TRAVELLED IMPACT THIS?

A number of different variables can effect battery life. Cadillac batteries come with a 8 years or 160,000km warranty, whichever comes first.

WHAT IS THE BEST METHOD TO PRESERVE THE BATTERY? SHOULD I LEAVE IT PLUGGED IN WHENEVER IT IS PARKED AT HOME OR ONLY REQUIRED WHEN CHARGING?

Cadillac recommends charging to 80% for daily use. You can adjust LYRIQ's charge settings, including maximum charge, in the charging settings of the vehicle.

HOW SAFE ARE EV VEHICLES DUE TO ALL THE BATTERIES WITHIN THE VEHICLE?

All vehicles sold in Australia and New Zealand must meet specific Vehicle Safety Standards, just like petrol or diesel vehicles. Infact, EVs are also designed with additional safety features that shut down the electrical system when they detect a collision or short circuit.

IS THERE MORE RISK OF A FIRE IN THE EVENT OF AN IMPACT DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF BATTERY PACKS?

The structural strength of all modern vehicles is exceptional. Cadillac (General Motors) has on-board battery monitoring and multiple safety features that protect and inform the occupant and emergency workers of the condition of the battery. Not all scenarios can be protected for and present no greater risk than a petrol or diesel vehicle.

HOW IS THE AREA AROUND THE BATTERY PACK REINFORCED TO MINIMISE A FIRE RISK IN A COLLISION?

There are structural body beams around the battery and the battery itself is encased in a stiff metal clamshell. EVs are also designed with additional safety features that shut down the electrical system when they detect a collision or short circuit.

IS THERE AN INCREASED FIRE RISK FOR EV BATTERIES IN WARMER CLIMATES AROUND AUSTRALIA?

No, Cadillac (General Motors) has designed a coolant system that maintains the optimum battery temperature which has the capability to supply coolant well below freezing point if necessary.

HOW MANY BATTERY PACKS WILL THE VEHICLE HAVE?

Each vehicle contains one high voltage battery and one conventional 12V battery.

WHAT BATTERY PACK COMES STANDARD WITH THE VEHICLE?

Cadillac EVs feature General Motor’s bespoke modular EV propulsion architecture, including a bespoke EV battery technology.

WHAT CHARGING OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE FOR CADILLAC EVS?

Cadillac EVs can be charged using home charging stations or public chargers, including direct current (DC) fast chargers where available. 

In Australia, all vehicles purchased through Cadillac ANZ will come with 1 year of free public charging provided by Chargefox, and the choice of one (1) 7kW Autel MaxiCharger AC Lite home charging unit with standard installation by JET Charge OR an additional 2 years of free public charging from Chargefox in Australia. The standard installation scope includes a single-phase, dedicated electrical circuit with up to 15 metres of copper cable, installation of an isolation switch near the charging unit and installation of electrical circuit protection. More information on standard installation with JET Charge can be found here. If the infrastructure available at your home does not meet the criteria for a standard installation, your installation will be treated as nonstandard. Cadillac will cover costs for nonstandard installs up to the value of a standard installation, and JET Charge will provide you with a quote for any additional costs or variations. CAN I USE TESLA SUPERCHARGERS TO CHARGE MY CADILLAC?

Cadillac EVs are compatible with many public charging networks, including those using standard connectors. However, not all Tesla Superchargers may be compatible.

WHAT IS THE RANGE OF THE CADILLAC LYRIQ?

The Cadillac LYRIQ offers an estimated range of up to 530 kilometers on a full charge. Range is based on a full charge. The range of electric vehicles is determined using a uniform measurement procedure (WLTP). Range and energy consumption may vary under real-world conditions depending on driving style and various external factors. It is therefore not always possible to achieve the range according to WLTP.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO CHARGE THE BATTERY?

Charging times vary depending on the method. For example, using a 7.4kW single phase AC home charger, LYRIQ can gain about 43km per hour of charge. With a 22kW three phase AC home charger, LYRIQ can charge at about 94km per hour of charge. If you connect LYRIQ to a DC fast charger and LYRIQ can charge up to 80% in about 30 minutes*

*Based on a 2025 LYRIQ charging with a compatible 190kW DC charger. Actual charge times will vary based on battery condition, output of charger, vehicle settings and outside temperature. See the vehicle's Owner's Manual for additional limitations. 

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST TO SET UP HOME CHARGING?

The cost of setting up a home charging system will depend on your specific requirements.

On a full charge, the LYRIQ can offer an estimated range of up to 530 km, For most daily commutes, you may only need to charge every few days or even weekly. Charging can be conveniently done overnight at home using a wall connector or at public charging stations when needed.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I RUN OUT OF CHARGE?

If your Cadillac LYRIQ runs out of charge, you will need to arrange for roadside assistance to transport your vehicle to the nearest charging station. Cadillac offers roadside assistance services to help in these situations. It's always a good idea to plan your trips and monitor your charge levels to avoid running out, and public charging stations are widely available for quick top-ups.

WHERE CAN I FIND PUBLIC CHARGING FOR MY LYRIQ?

For Australian customers, Cadillac has partnered with Chargefox, the largest charging platform in the country. You can find locations inthe Chargefox app, which will be shown to you upon delivery of your Cadillac. 

For New Zealand customers, we're busy working on a public charging partner, to be announced soon.

There are also many other public charging providers whose networks can be utilised across both countries.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO CHARGE?

The cost of charging your LYRIQ will depend on the charging provider and whether you're charging at home or using public charging stations. On average, charging at home using off-peak electricity rates is more cost-effective than public charging. For public charging, costs vary depending on the network, with some stations offering free charging and others charging per kWh or time used.

HOW DO I CHARGE MY LYRIQ AT HOME?

Charging your LYRIQ at home is simple. You can use the included portable charge cord from day one, or a wall connector for faster charging. Simply plug the vehicle into the wall connector, and it will charge overnight or during off-peak hours using the charging settings in the vehicle.

WHAT CHARGING EQUIPMENT COMES AS STANDARD WITH THE LYRIQ?

The LYRIQ comes standard with a portable charge cord that can be used with a standard household outlet (240V) for slower charging or with a dedicated home wall connector for faster charging. 

In Australia, all vehicles purchased through Cadillac ANZ will come with 1 year of free public charging provided by Chargefox, and the choice of one (1) 7kW Autel MaxiCharger AC Lite home charging unit with standard installation by JET Charge OR an additional 2 years of free public charging from Chargefox in Australia. IS IT POSSIBLE TO OVERCHARGE AN EV?

No. The vehicle has software that will prevent charging when the battery reaches a full charge.

DOES THE VEHICLE HAVE TO BE SWITCHED OFF WHEN CHARGING?

Yes, the Owner's manual refers to putting the vehicle in Park before charging.

IF I LEAVE MY VEHICLE RUNNING AND CONNECT THE CHARGER, CAN THIS CAUSE ANY DAMAGE TO THE BATTERY PACK OR COMPONENTS? IS IT A FIRE HAZARD?

There will not be any damage to charge the car when the ignition is on, however, it needs to be in park.

CAN YOU CHARGE AN EV WITH ELECTRICITY FROM SOLAR PANELS?

Yes, provided compatible chargers are used, and any power supply is utility supplier provided i.e. using the plug-in charger during the day at a property with solar panels connected through the switchboard of that property. Check with your charging installer to confirm.

IS THE CHARGING CABLE PLUG UNIVERSAL FOR PUBLIC CHARGING STATIONS OR DO I NEED AN ADAPTER?

The Cadillac LYRIQ is equipped with a Type 2 charging port, which is compatible with most public charging stations in Australia and New Zealand. In most cases, you will not need an adapter. However, if you plan to use a different type of charging station, we recommend to verify compatibility or consult your local service centre for guidance on adapters.

CAN THE VEHICLE BE CHARGED AT A PUBLIC CHARGING STATION IN THE RAIN WITHOUT CAUSING ANY DAMAGE?

Yes, it can be charged in the rain.

ARE ALL PUBLIC CHARGING STATION THE SAME? IS THERE ONE TYPE BETTER SUITED THAN OTHERS?

Not all public chargers have the same power output, nor can the quality or reliability of a third-party network be guaranteed by Cadillac.

ARE THERE ANY ADVANTAGES TO CHARGING THE EV SLOWLY?

Charging the battery slowly results in lower battery activity which may prolong the life of the battery. Cadillac Evs come with software designed to charge the vehicle at optimal rates depending on the output of a connected charger.

DO I NEED TO CHARGE MY CAR EVERY NIGHT?

HOW DO I SCHEDULE A SERVICE APPOINTMENT FOR MY CADILLAC?

You will be able to book a service through the Cadillac website or through the Cadillac Sales team once vehicle deliveries commence in early 2025.

WHAT IS THE WARRANTY COVERAGE FOR CADILLAC VEHICLES?

All Cadillac vehicles purchased through Cadillac ANZ come with a comprehensive warranty, including a 5-year/Unlimited km vehicle warranty and an 8-year/160,000 km battery warranty. Some buyer type restrictions may apply. If the vehicle has been used for commercial application^, the warranty coverage expires at the end of 5 Years or once the vehicle has travelled 200,000 km, whichever comes first. 

^ Commercial Application means that the vehicle has at any time been used or is currently used for a commercial purpose, and such uses include without limitation; taxi services, hire or rental vehicle services, courier services, and vehicles transporting people or goods for payment (including on a part-time or casual basis, and rideshare (such as Uber or Didi). The warranty coverage for vehicles used  for a commercial application expires at the end of 5 Years or once the vehicle has travelled 200,000 km, whichever comes first.  Visit the owners section of our website to find out more.

IS ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE FOR CADILLAC VEHICLES?

Yes, All Cadillac vehicles purchased through Cadillac ANZ come with complimentary 5 years of roadside assistance

WHAT IS THE WARRANTY ON THE BATTERIES?

Cadillac offers standard 8 year/160,000km battery warranty.

WHAT ARE THE SERVICE REQUIREMENTS AND SERVICE COSTS?

Electric vehicles like the LYRIQ require less maintenance than traditional vehicles. Key service items include tire rotations, brake fluid checks, and periodic software updates. Cadillac recommends consulting with authorised service centres for specific service packages and costs, which will vary depending on your location and service needs. Service Intervals are 12000km/12 months. Additionally, all Cadillac vehicles purchased through Cadillac ANZ come with free servicing for the first 5 years or 5 Scheduled Services, whichever comes first. Terms and conditions apply.

WHAT FREQUENCY ARE THE SERVICE INTERVALS AND WHAT IS INVOLVED IN EACH SERVICE?

Cadillac vehicles, including the LYRIQ, have a maintenance schedule of every 12,000 kilometres or 12 months, whichever comes first. Servicing requirements are completed as per the maintenance schedule. Cadillac Service Centres and authorised service partners will perform the necessary safety checks and multipoint inspection at each service. Regular service intervals include tire inspections and rotations, fluid checks, and system diagnostics. More detailed services may be needed at higher kilometre milestones, as outlined in your vehicle's owner's manual. Electric vehicle systems typically require fewer repairs and maintenance compared to internal combustion engines.

DOES IT HAVE TO GO TO A CERTIFIED SERVICE CENTRE?

To take advantage of  the Cadillac Confidence Program free servicing offer, the vehicle will need to be serviced at one of our certified service centres. It is highly recommended to service your vehicle at an authorised Cadillac Service Centre to ensure it is maintained by factory-trained professionals with the latest tools and training. However, customers are free to service a vehicle elsewhere. While not required to maintain your warranty, servicing at an authorised centre ensures proper handling of warranty claims.

WILL PARTS BE READILY AVAILABLE IN CASE OF A WARRANTY ISSUE?

You can buy accessories for your Cadillac online on our website during the vehicle purchase process.  Additional accessories can also be added at any time prior to arranging delivery by speaking to one of our Cadillac Sales team.  Post delivery, you can order and buy accessories for fitment through one of our Cadillac experience centres. Your Cadillac Sales representative can also help you with purchasing these if you need any assistance.
